Summary
Google has developed Business Training Programs to help news publishers and media outlets grow their presence online, as well as generate further reader revenue.
These sessions have been designed to help news publishers and journalists learn actionable steps which can help increase audience engagement and/or reader revenue. Attendees will be given best practices to help accelerate their digital skills and navigate changes facing the news industry.
The full program will explore how to grow your Advertising Revenue, grow your audiences and Reader Revenue with RRM and Privacy Sandbox 3PCD and you will get started with new Sustainability Project/Tool, Reader Revenue Manager/Calculator and Google Ad Manager.

For publishers and journalists: 3 online sessions. Those who watch 60% of full sessions will be sent a Google News Initiative certificate for taking part.
Structure of the Program
- Session 1: Grow your Advertising Revenue

- Learn more about establishing your digital advertising strategy and how to turn views into income.
- This will be held as one session lasting up to 60 minutes, with an interactive 30 minute Round Table with the Subject Matter Expert. A Google Meet link will be sent directly to participants who register for the session.
- Session 2: Grow audiences and revenue with Reader Revenue Manager

About the Instructors
Gustavo Cordeiro
Gustavo Cordeiro, Strategic Partner Manager ES & PT, SellSide, has been in the technology area for 20 years. Being a compulsive searcher and passionate about news and sports, he joined Google, where he has been working with advertisers and publishers in Brazil, Portugal and Spain for 10 years. For the last six years he has been responsible for the monetization of journalism companies in Portugal and Spain, in addition to having worked on several sustainability projects for media companies. He serves as an expert on Google's data solutions (News Consumer Insights) in these markets.
Rafael Savone
Rafael Savone, Google NCI Program Manager, has been working in the communications market for over 10 years, with experience in advertising agencies in Brazil and as a marketing leader for projects in Latin America. He holds a degree in Communication from the Centro Universitário Belas Artes in São Paulo and an MBA in Strategic and Economic Business Management from the Fundação Getúlio Vargas. He currently works closely with journalists and news outlets, supporting them with training and development programs offered by the Google News Initiative.
Ignatius Roberts
Ignatius Roberts, Strategic Partnerships Manager, SE & PT, is Google’s head of strategic partnerships with the media sector in Portugal and Spain. He has been with Google for over 10 years in various commercial and international business development roles. Currently based in the Madrid office, he has also worked in Dublin and Singapore.
Laís dos Santos
Laís dos Santos, Google NCI Program Manager , has been in the digital marketing and communications market for over 10 years, with experience in TV, agencies and retail in Latin America and APAC. In Brazil, she worked on the call-in desk at Redetv! and in the marketing and commercial department at Ana Maria Braga/Globo. In Australia, before joining Google, she was part of the global digital marketing and analytics team for the Australian brand Seafolly and is currently part of the News Partnerships team at Google Australia, leading programs and analytics for news outlets in the region.
