Summary

IADE – European University announces the publication of the e-book "The Media and War: Media Coverage and Disinformation in Times of Conflict," edited by Patrícia Silveira, Associate Professor at IADE-EU and Research Fellow at UNIDCOM/IADE; Clarisse Pessôa, Associate Professor at IPAM Porto and Research Fellow at CECS – UMinho; and Simone Petrella, Assistant Professor at the Catholic University of Portugal and Research Fellow at CEFH – UCP.

The e-book, published by IADE Press, brings together a collection of texts by renowned experts in the fields of communication and media, reflecting on the intersections between media, (dis)information, and war in the context of hybrid communication ecosystems. The reflection focuses on the impacts of the circulation of informative content, polarizing discourses, and media influence strategies in contemporary conflict scenarios.

This publication is part of the scientific activities of the R&D project MeinWar - Study on the media and social representations of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, funded by the European University. Led by Professor and Researcher Patrícia Silveira, this project aims to gather important scientific outputs around the narrative and media discourse on the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and its impact on social representations of war, refugees, and migration policies.
