Summary
Google has developed Business Training Programs to help news publishers and media outlets grow their presence online, as well as generate further reader revenue.
These sessions have been designed to help news publishers and journalists learn actionable steps which can help increase audience engagement and/or reader revenue. Attendees will be given best practices to help accelerate their digital skills and navigate changes facing the news industry.
The full program will explore how to grow your audience on Search, how to grow your news audience on YouTube, about newsletter best practices and launch, and getting started with GA4 using Google Analytics 4, News Consumer Insights, Search console, YouTube tools and AI Tools for News.

For publishers and journalists: 4 online sessions. Those who watch 60% of full sessions will be sent a Google News Initiative certificate for taking part.

- This will be held as one session lasting up to 60 minutes, with an interactive 30 minute Round Table with the Subject Matter Expert. A Google Meet link will be sent directly to participants who register for the session.

About the Instructors
Ignatius Roberts
Ignatius Roberts, Strategic Partnerships Manager, SE & PT, is Google’s head of strategic partnerships with the media sector in Portugal and Spain. He has been with Google for over 10 years in various commercial and international business development roles. Currently based in the Madrid office, he has also worked in Dublin and Singapore.
Rafael Savone
Rafael Savone, Google NCI Program Manager, has been working in the communications market for over 10 years, with experience in advertising agencies in Brazil and as a marketing leader for projects in Latin America. He holds a degree in Communication from the Centro Universitário Belas Artes in São Paulo and an MBA in Strategic and Economic Business Management from the Fundação Getúlio Vargas. He currently works closely with journalists and news outlets, supporting them with training and development programs offered by the Google News Initiative.
Andrea David Rizzi
Andrea David Rizzi, Head of Portugal and Italy Media and Sports Partnerships, YouTube, is a 19-year veteran of the tech industry, is the leading figure of YouTube partnerships for Media Companies and Sports in both Portugal and Italy. His extensive digital expertise stems from a blend of entrepreneurship and strategic digital management roles within various global companies, spanning media, entertainment, and manufacturing sectors. He has consulted on, developed, and executed numerous large-scale projects related to content distribution, digital marketing, e-commerce, and operational excellence innovation. Following 7 successful years at Google as the YouTube lead for Media Companies and Sports in Italy, Rizzi's role expanded in 2024 to include supporting and driving YouTube partnership success in Portugal as well.
Laís dos Santos
Laís dos Santos, Google NCI Program Manager , has been in the digital marketing and communications market for over 10 years, with experience in TV, agencies and retail in Latin America and APAC. In Brazil, she worked on the call-in desk at Redetv! and in the marketing and commercial department at Ana Maria Braga/Globo. In Australia, before joining Google, she was part of the global digital marketing and analytics team for the Australian brand Seafolly and is currently part of the News Partnerships team at Google Australia, leading programs and analytics for news outlets in the region.
